Funeral services for William Murphy Kinard, 51, of Ardmore, will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel in Ardmore, Oklahoma with Rev.. James Moffett officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M., at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home in Ardmore.
Murphy was born on September 7, 1960, in Ardmore, Oklahoma to William Henry Kinard and Marlene LaJune (Adams) Kinard. He passed away Friday, July 27, 2012, at the age of 51 years, 10 months and 20 days.
Murphy had lived in Ardmore most of his life and had also lived in the Wynnewood area. He had worked as a roustabout and as a garage door repairman. Murphy enjoyed fishing and shooting pool, and was always known to help others.
Murphy is survived by his sons, Murphy Kinard II and Derick Young; daughters, Lindsay Glover and Marisela Darter, all of Ardmore, Oklahoma; grandchild, Dayveon Glover and one grandchild on the way; mother, Marlene LaJune Dorsey and husband Tommy of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; brother, Henry Dewayne Kinard and wife Sonya of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; sisters, Tricia Thigpen and husband Douglas of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and Lynn Ketterman of Denver, Colorado; several nieces and nephews.
Murphy was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Lori Vaughn.
Casket bearers will be Steve Christian, Randy Hamilton, Steve Goodman, Jason Sidler and Danny Daniels.
Honorary casket bearers will be Chief Darter and Dewayne Kinard
